The board is opened first. A dedicated circuit is run only when the supply can carry the unit on top of the loads already there, including over a long cable from the street. The isolator sits at the outdoor unit, in a fitting that can take the wind. Cabling is kept tidy, and the electrical work is certified when it is finished.

A split system is extra. It is connected when the board and the run can carry it. It is not a breaker forced into ceramic fuses at the end of an undersized cable.
When a hillside house asks for cooling, the electrical question is whether the existing supply can carry another dedicated circuit after the long run from the street. We open the board, measure that run, and only then pull a cable to an isolator at the outdoor unit. The isolator is IP-rated because the escarpment is exposed. The refrigeration installer sets the unit. We certify the electrical work. Solar, battery or EV equipment already on the board is counted, because those are listed Arthurs Seat jobs and they share the same supply. A tourism building near the State Park is not given a house circuit. If the fuse board has no spare way, it is upgraded before the split system is connected.
