You can swap like-for-like LED globes in existing fittings yourself, but any new wiring, cutting new holes, or installing new fittings requires a licensed electrician. In Victoria, all electrical connection work must be done by a licensed A Grade or C Grade electrician.
LED downlights use 75–80% less power than halogen equivalents.
