Power points in Skye are the gap the suburb page already describes. Newer estates were often built without enough outlets, so families add a home office, a garage bench and more kitchen appliances onto too few circuits. Longer-standing homes were wired with even fewer points, and double adaptors fill the rooms. Impulse Electrical adds the outlets and the circuits from our Dromana base.

Extra power points make homes safer and more practical by reducing the need for double adaptors and extension leads. We install standard, double, USB, outdoor weatherproof and dedicated high-load power points for kitchens, studies, garages, sheds and alfresco areas. Each outlet is wired to the correct circuit, tested and positioned neatly for everyday use. In Skye, with more home offices, chargers, appliances and outdoor equipment, many local homes need power where people actually live and work now. Impulse Electrical is fully licensed — A Grade A53308 and REC 25266 — with $25M public liability and a Certificate of Electrical Safety supplied on every job.

We confirm which circuit has capacity, where the outlet will actually be used, and whether that circuit already has a safety switch. A new point on a tired, unprotected circuit is not an improvement. You leave with tested outlets and a COES. Call 0418 383 232.

Why choose Impulse Electrical in Skye?

What power point installation in Skye involves

In an estate house the limit is often the board. A new kitchen, office or garage circuit needs a spare way the original build may not have left. In a longer-standing home the existing circuit may already be at its limit, so the new points need their own circuit. Outdoor points are weatherproof fittings. We do not add another outlet to a fuse board that has nowhere to put the breaker.

Estate houses that were left short, and original homes

The Skye FAQ already says newer estates are where we add power points and extra circuits that were not in the original build. That is a desk, a bedside or a garage bench still running on double adaptors. An original house is the same problem on an older board. If the circuit feeding the new points has no safety switch, that is fixed in the same visit. If the board cannot take the new circuit, the board is part of the job.

Power Point Installation in Skye — FAQs

Can you add power points to a newer Skye estate house?

Yes. Those homes often need outlets and circuits the original build did not include. If a circuit has spare capacity, we add the points. If the kitchen or the garage is already at its limit, we run a new circuit, provided the board has a way for it.

What about an older Skye house?

Often the same answer after a look at the board. An existing circuit can take more points only if it is in sound condition and has spare capacity. We say which it is after looking, not from the number of points you want.

Will new points stop the double adaptors?

They will if they are placed where the appliances are, on circuits that can carry them. Adding one more point on the far wall does not help a kitchen bench full of leads. We mark the positions with you before we cut.

Can the new circuit include a safety switch?

If the circuit we are adding to has no RCD protection, we fix that in the same visit. A new circuit is protected as it is installed. We do not add outlets to an unprotected fuse way and call it finished.
